APAC offers the integrative Holistic Model of Play Therapy which is uniquely validated through excellent clinical outcomes. We believe this provides a solid foundation preparing students with the knowledge, skills and experience to work therapeutically with children, young people and adults using play and creative arts.

Apprenticeship Courses
The three-year Level 7 Play Therapy apprenticeship will prepare each apprentice to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required of a Certified Play Therapist. This course will introduce the apprentice the fundamental requirements to work therapeutically with children.
36 months
Level 5 Diploma
To empower students to speak knowledgeably with parents, families and other relevant professionals, whilst simultaneously equipping them to use Play and Creative Arts-Based interventions. Students can potentially access our Post Graduate Play Therapy Programme after the Level 5 course via our Recognised Prior Learning Route. This involves the completion of five selected written assignments before commencing the Certificate course.

Postgraduate Certificate
The professional award which enables successful students to practice clinically is made by PTUK, or for overseas students by PTI. Successful participants will be placed as ‘Certified Practitioners in Therapeutic Play Skills’ on the PTUK/PTI Register which is accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
20 months
Postgraduate Diploma
The professional award which enables successful students to practice clinically is made by PTUK, or for overseas students by PTI. Successful participants will be placed as ‘Certified Play Therapists’ on the PTUK/PTI Register which is accredited by the Professional Standards Authority, once qualified at Diploma level students are able to open their own private practice.
18 months
MA Course in Practice Based Therapy
The MA Course Practice Based Play Therapy is an exciting opportunity to design and deliver an original piece of work that will contribute to what we know about children’s mental health from a play therapy perspective. Research is a collaborative effort, with each finding coming from those before it and leading to the next discovery.

Post Qualifying Certificate in Clinical Supervision
The Certificate in Clinical Supervision course is designed to give an in-depth knowledge and understanding of general supervision principles applicable for clinical practitioners and how to use the creative arts to facilitate this process.

Post Qualifying Certificate in Play and Creative Arts Counselling of Children and Young People
This Post Qualifying Certificate in Play and Creative Arts Counselling course is designed for Certified or Accredited Play Therapists who wish to extend their skills to use talking therapy with children and young people (10-18) alongside creative arts media.

Post Qualifying Certificate in Creative Arts and Play Therapy Counselling with Adults
The Certificate in Creative Arts and Play Therapy Counselling with Adults will enable participants to provide adult clients with the opportunity to work through their overwhelming feelings using APAC’s Integrative Holistic approach. This will incorporate variety of media employed within Creative Arts and Play Therapy.

One of the main objectives of PTUK is to ensure the protection of the public and the children in particular, from unsafe and ineffective practice. Continuous Professional Development is regarded as essential for good quality practice by certified and accredited PTUK Practitioner Members.
